Young children need help brushing their teeth. Brush with fluoride toothpaste, both after breakfast and before bed.

As children “graduate” from the Head Start community, they never really leave the hearts of staff. Throughout the years, staff celebrate children’s and families’ successes, and also experience heartache when those children and families face struggles and tragedy. We extend our deepest sympathy to the families, friends and educators of those involved in the recent tragedy and strength to all to get through these toughest of times. #CherawStrong

As we prepare for colder temperatures, we remind families to dress children in warm clothes. Staff’s priority will be to get children onto buses and into buildings as quickly as possible.

Attention families: Just a reminder that children will return on Tuesday. Staff will return Monday. We can’t wait to see your children’s smiling faces on Tuesday!

Thank you to our community members for their kind and generous donations and putting a smile on the faces of these children this holiday season.

All Centers are open today, Thursday, with the exception of Manzanola which is closed due to power outages.

Attention families: Lamar, Las Animas, La Junta Centers and Rocky Ford Annex will be open Thursday, December 16. We will make a decision concerning Grand Valley and Manzanola centers in the morning. It's very hard to hide your feelings from your children. And you don't need to, as long as you don't leave them alone with theirs. Do your best to handle your feelings so you can help them manage theirs.

If you feel overwhelmed, nervous, or have lingering sadness, it is important to reach out to a trained and experienced mental health professional. It is okay to ask for help. You are not alone. https://bit.ly/33GRhcu
