Woodruff Memorial Library is kicking off it's 2022 summer reading program, "Oceans of Possibilities." The summer reading program will run June 1-July 23. All ages are welcome to participate. The Summer Reading Program promotes literacy, encourages reading, raises awareness and use of the library resources. Participants - children and adults - will use an online platform to keep track of books or reading time. The online platform can be found at wml.readsquared.com. There is also an app available in the App Store. Participants earn points by logging what they have read and collect badges. Ages birth through 12th grade will also earn prizes. Prizes vary by age and include bubble poppers, board books, shirts, pool passes, mini blocks, towels and Booster Bucks.
Registration will be held online on the ReadSquared website through the app. Participants who reach Level 10 (or 1,000 points), will receive the Completion Prize - an invitation to an evening pool party at La Junta Wipeout swimming pool on July 26.
In addition to the reading program, there will be kids and teen events held each week and participants can earn points toward the Completion Prize. Kids events will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays on the WML Patio. Teen events will be held at 1 p.m. on Fridays in the WML Meeting Room or a designated location. WML Lego Club meets throughout the month in the WML meeting room.
